What happens at the first session?

The initial appointment can not be compared to a normal therapy session. You will be asked questions about the problems you are experiencing, your goals and get to know your therapist to determine if you connect. You will be provided with treatment recommendations, and if you decide you'd like to start therapy, a future appointment will be scheduled.

What treatment modalities does START Creative Arts Therapy Services, PLLC use?

The interventions used will depend on your treatment needs. We primarily utilize Creative Arts Therapy (Art, Dance and Movement, Drama, Music and Writing), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye- Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Somatization.

How are Mental Health Practitioners trained?

Our therapist all acquired Masters degree, and are board certified, and licensed in either Art, Dance and Movement therapy, Drama and Music Therapy. Post graduate training varies with each clinician and may include EMDR, Solution Focused Therapy, CBT, and DBT to offer services dedicated to improving client outcomes.

How often do we meet & how long will I be in therapy?

This answer varies and depends on the severity of the challenges you are facing. Typically, clients see the most success when they meet either weekly or bi-weekly. If symptoms are mild, therapy can last 8-12 weeks. Clients who have more complex issues or those who are looking to do deeper work attend for a longer period of time.

How do I access treatment?

START Creative Arts Therapy Services, PLLC is looking to make accessing treatment as easily as possible. Our mobile therapist will come to you, or work with you through teletherapy.

Can I bring family or loved ones to a session?

Our goal is to help improve your relationship with others. Introducing family or loved ones into treatment sessions is welcomed and often encouraged.

What are your fees and do you take Insurance?

Our fees range from $140-150 per session. We accept some insurance including Cigna, MagnaCare and Healthfirst. We also will provide a “Superbill”.

What age range do you work with?

We work with Child, Adolescents and adults.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancelations or no shows will be charged at the rate you agreed on for your regular sessions, and identified on your good faith estimate.

How do you set up an initial appointment?

What are your hours?

Hours will range depending on the clinician that your prefer or that best suites your needs. Sessions may be available Monday - Sunday.
